How to reach the venue

  • By plane

On arrival to Brussels Airport take a train either directly towards Hasselt or via a stop in Leuven, where you can change trains for Hasselt. For the last train there are 2 possibilities, i.e. one passing by Aarschot, the other passing by Landen.

  • By train

From Brussels: take a train in the direction of Aarschot-Tongeren or Landen-Genk.

From Liège (Guillemins): take the train in the direction of Antwerp. This train runs every hour and arrives in Hasselt after 64 minutes.

From Antwerp Central: take the train in the direction of Liège. This train runs 2 times every hour and arrives in Hasselt after 66 minutes.

More information about timetables of trains in Belgium can be found on the following website:

  • From Hasselt Railway Station to Campus Hasselt

The BPG venue  is located at a short 15 minutes walk from the station. Map

Alternatively, you can take the bus to Campus Hasselt from Hasselt Railway Station (Bus Stop: Dusartplein - line 22, 23 or 52) but it not the fastest solution, except if you are carrying heavy luggages.

Once on the Dusartplein, follow the outside ring for 300 meters and you will reach the Campus Hasselt (Law Faculty) on your right hand. Map

  • By car

On the map it is indicated where free parking places are available. In the city itself you have to pay. From these parking places it is about 12 to 7 minutes walking to the Venue (Law Faculty - Old Prison Building or Oud Gevangenis in dutch"”).

If possible, coming from the highway one should follow the “large roundabout” of Hasselt till the crossing of the “Universiteitslaan” and the “Verwilghensingel”. There, at the traffic lights, turn toward the city center (Koning Boudewijnlaan) and then there are several options:
The first free parking you encounter is P1: turn right immediately at first crossing (kind of roundabout); 12 min walking. Alternative is to use the bus stop close to P1 till 'Kolonel Dusartplein', no ticket needs to be bought to go to the city centre.

The others you can reach by driving straight on toward the center. At your left you will see P3 on the former other lane of Koning Boudewijnlaan. This is accessible by turning toward the other lane at the end of the road just before the bus station and the underground parking (not free). Depending how occupied P3 is, it takes about 11 till 6 minutes walking.

Alternatives are also P5 (Vilderstraat, this is a parking of a school but very large) or the parking P6 (parking swimming pool) 7 min walking. Both can be reached via the “elfdelinie straat” starting from Koning Boudewijnlaan. Attention! As this area is a school area, mind you that in this streets it will be quite busy at 8H30 (also speed limit 30 km/hour)

A final option is the parking P2 at the Japanese Garden (12 minutes walking through the city park) This parking can be reached coming from the “Verwilghensingel” driving on the lane at the side of the Japanese Garden and leaving the “Verwilghensingel” via a rather small sidestreet. If you encounter the traffic lights you are too far, then choose P1 or P3.
