Vendor Seminars

The following vendor seminars will take place during the lunch breaks on Monday, October 8 and Tuesday, October 9. Participants are invited to register for the seminars directly via their online registration. Participation is free of charge, but as the number of places is limited, we kindly invite you to register beforehand. Lunch will be served in the exhibition area prior to the start of the vendor seminars.

Monday, October 8 | 13:00-14:00

Vendor Seminar 1 - AGILENT TECHNOLOGIES
The New Benchmark for Preparative LC Workflows -  Pathways to Achieve Exceptional Accuracy and Flexibility
Room Palladium 2.05

Presented by Stefan Ullrich and Ronald Guilliet

Agilent offers high-efficiency InfinityLab LC and LC/MSD solutions ranging from analytical scale up to preparative scale for purification of multiple grams. A portfolio of state-of-the-art LC purification instruments offers you scalable solutions to grow with your needs. Don’t miss a single compound through a wide range of fraction collectors and detectors including mass-selective detection.

Vendor Seminar 2 - OSAKA SODA CO., LTD.
Taming the Devil (Advances in the Understanding of CIP in RP HPLC Processes)
Room Platinum 2.08

Presented by Imre Sallay

Multiple tons of expensive stationary phase (RP silica for HPLC) is used for manufacturing APIs for diabetes treatment drugs. However the processes are difficult to optimize, especially the crucial part, the Cleaning In Place (CIP) where attempts are made to extend the life time of the stationary phase by removing the fibrillated API.
We have found that very simple and old-fashioned chromatography tests (used for analytical column characterization) can be used as tools to monitor the state of silica inside the intact columns during CIP. This gives hope for optimization of the CIP process, extending the life of silica based stationary phases in process scale HPLC.

Tuesday, October 9 | 12:40-13:40

Vendor Seminar 3 - Kromasil-AkzoNobel PPC
Method Development and Purification of Biotherapeutics including Peptides and Oligonucleotides
Room Palladium 2.05

Presented by Joakim Högblom, Robert Fredriksson, Harald Dibowski

The number of peptides and other biotherapeutics evaluated and slated to come into the market continues to increase.  Focus on successful purification of these molecules is key from research and development to production and commercialization as peptides and oligonucleotides can have quite very diverse structures.  Kromasil, high performance chromatographic media based on state-of-the-art spherical silica for UHPLC/HPLC/SFC analysis and purification using HPLC, SFC and SMB process technology, has a unique combination of pore volume and surface area, plus very high mechanical and chemical stability, making it ideal for the separation of substances from small molecules to biotherapeutics. During this seminar, we will share several method development examples, including method transfer from small particle sizes and corresponding column dimensions to large scale chromatography.

Vendor Seminar 4 - Tosoh Bioscience GmbH
Reduce your Downstream Processing Costs and Know More About your Target Molecules
Room Platinum 2.08

Presented by Patrick Endres

The manufacturing of complex biotherapeutics requires novel purification strategies without compromising the economic aspects of the process. We will focus on innovative chromatography techniques to purify monoclonal antibodies and to determine the efficiency of your purification processes. The case study will show a Protein A Capturing including a post-load wash followed by salt tolerant ion exchange polishing. We applied latest (U)HPLC technologies to analyse aggregate content, charged isoforms, and ADCC activity. Join us for an interactive discussion on new developments in purification and analytics!
