Social Program
The Social Program of NMCS NYC will include the following events:
- Welcome & Networking Reception on Sunday, June 26 evening
Venue: NY Marriott Downtown
Participation in the Welcome Reception is free of charge, but subject to prior registration (during your on-line registration)
- Excursions on Tuesday, June 28 afternoon
Optional excursions will take place during the afternoon of June 28. Excursions are subject to prior registration and payment (via your online registration). Further information on the proposed excursions is available below. All excursions will take place at the same time, so only 1 excursion per person can be booked.
- Award Dinner on Tuesday, June 28 evening
Venue: NY Marriott Downtown
Participation in the Award Dinner is optional and requires prior registration as well as a contribution of $100.00 per participant. The Dinner will be followed by the Award lectures, in the same room. Please register for the banquet via your online registration.
Excursions on Tuesday, June 28 afternoon
Tour 1: We love Brooklyn
From 1:30pm to 5pm
Cost at $90 per person
Minimum 30 participants, maximum 50 participants
Description:
Guests will be taken for a walk in the up-and-coming, trendy borough of Brooklyn. We might start the tour in DUMBO (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass), the raw and charming home to history’s favorite artists and families. A walk along cobblestone streets open south to the river, the awe-inspiring vista of the Manhattan skyline, and the old and new architecture of Brooklyn side by side, from swanky hotels to the transformed piers. The guests witness the phenomenon of Brooklyn and learn about its fascinating history. They will hear about Brooklyn's legacy as a capital of immigration, manufacturing and beer brewing, and discover the story of its recent gentrification, and how its culture, identity and future are being shaped.
Tour 2: Walking Tour – Fifth Avenue
From 1:30pm to 5:00pm

Minimum 15 participants, maximum 20 participants

Think you know everything there is to know about this world famous avenue? Think again!
Experience the world’s most iconic retail avenue with a local on this exclusive tour. We have partnered with the Fifth Avenue Association to bring you inside some of NYC’s most famous hotels, shops, churches and landmarks. This walking tour features many of NYC’s most majestic sights, from Central Park to Rockefeller Center. Learn the incredible history of this area through engaging storytelling. We will enter several beautiful, iconic institutions and a few hidden gems that are definitely worth knowing.
Tour 3: Walking Tour – Midtown Architecture
From 1:30pm to 5:00pm
Cost at $100 per person
Minimum 15 participants, maximum 20 participants
Description:
Take a stroll through midtown and get up close and personal with some of New York City’s most iconic buildings. Discover the surprising secrets behind the Chrysler Building and Grand Central Terminal, the records that the Empire State Building broke, the quiet beauty of the New York library and the majesty of St Patrick’s Cathedral. From the Flatiron Building to Rockefeller Plaza, this immersive walking tour brings these breath-taking structures into clear view.
